Another 18 people without employment in the town will specialize in the cleaning sector with a program that combines training with paid work
The Community has granted this year to Puerto Lumbreras five employment programs that, with a total sum of 350,500 euros, aim to boost the labor market of the municipality, providing training and employment to unemployed from different groups.
These initiatives are promoted by the Ministry of Employment, Universities and Business, through the SEF.
Thus, these subsidies from the SEF have allowed, for example, that six unemployed people from the locality have been hired directly by the Lumbrerense Consistory for a period of six months to strengthen the administration, information and culture departments of the local Administration.
Specifically, three of the unemployed who are currently part of the municipal staff through a local public employment program are young beneficiaries of Youth Guarantee and perform administrative and cultural promotion work.
The other three hired are two administrative and a computer technician.
The general director of the SEF, Alejandro Zamora, who visited this week with the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, participants of these programs, stressed that "from the regional government we bet on the collaboration between the regional administration and administrations local in our commitment to boost the employment options of people who do not have work, especially those who have more difficult to access the labor market.
Likewise, another 18 unemployed will be able to improve their training through a mixed employment and training program that will be launched in the coming months and that will allow them to specialize in the cleaning sector.
This initiative, which combines training with paid work, has a grant of 281,000 euros, co-financed by the European Social Fund.
In this way, these young people under 30, after completing the theoretical part of the program, will be hired for nine months by the City of Puerto Lumbreras to perform cleaning and maintenance of streets and public spaces in the town.
In particular, these remunerated works of support to the municipal cleaning service will constitute the practical part of this training action.
Once completed their training, students will obtain a professional certificate of cleanliness in open spaces and industrial facilities that, in addition to accrediting their skills in this professional branch, will allow them to work, for example, as street cleaning workers and waste collection workers , both in town halls and in companies in the sector.
Good employment data
Prior to the visit, Zamora met with the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, to address joint actions that serve to boost the employment of the municipality.
In addition, the meeting also served to analyze the positive evolution of employment data in the town, where unemployment has decreased by 8.8 percent in the last year, representing a decrease of 68 unemployed.
With regard to the creation of employment, the number of members of the Social Security has increased in people over the last twelve months, which represents an increase of 2.8 percent, placing the number of members in the municipality in 4,809 people.
