The largest circuit of homologated races of 10 kilometers of the Region of Murcia arrived yesterday at Puerto Lumbreras.
Around 19.00 hours this sports competition was held, in which hundreds of athletes of all levels and from all parts of the national scene were present.
The test was carried out in an urban and paved circuit, approved by the Spanish Athletics Federation, with an exit on the esplanade next to the Municipal Sports Center.
The race had two distances in each test, the 10-kilometer homologated and the 5-kilometer open test.
The homologated competition consisted of 2 laps to a circuit of 5,000 meters.
Thus, an individual classification was made for each test and also a general classification where the 3 best results were added.
In the cases of tie points, was resolved by the best time in any of the 3 tests.
One of the great attractions of this circuit were the cash prizes, with 900 euros to distribute among the participants, with the same economic amount for both sexes.
To qualify for trophies and cash prizes, it was mandatory to attend the delivery ceremony to be held at the end of the race.
Thus, the winner of the Men's 5 k was Raúl Guevara and María López in the female category, while the winners of the 10 K race were Mohomed Boucetta in men and the runner of the Athletics Club Nogalte Wafiya Brnali in women.
It should be noted that this circuit boasts the title of "fastest race in the Region of Murcia", since in its first edition in the capital, the top 10 classified managed to lose 32 minutes, figures never seen in our region.
Finally, Juan Rubén Burrueco thanked the citizens for their assistance "to one of the biggest running events in the Murcia region".
In addition, Burrueco stressed that "the people who traveled yesterday to our town spent a pleasant day of leisure combining sports with the tourist attractions offered by our municipality."
Finally, the councilor noted that "the realization of this sporting event has had positive effects, attracting more visitors and generate profits in municipal economic activity."
