The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Mª Ángeles Túnez, and the General Director of the Natural Environment, Consuelo Rosauro, met this morning to study the start-up of a refurbishment and improvement project on the Old Road of Puerto Lumbreras.
The mayor explained that "we consider it necessary to carry out adaptation actions in the area of Camino Viejo to improve communications and facilitate access to housing and the industrial estates of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras."
In addition, Tunisia added that "some of the main companies in the municipality, such as Barberet & Blanc or PlantiAgro, are located in this area, which means that hundreds of vehicles circulate daily on this road, which will widen and improve the state of the firm, as well as the citizen security of those who travel along the Camino Viejo ".
The project includes mainly paving work on a section of 1,685 linear meters.
The paving will be carried out with an S-12C agglomerate layer 5 cm thick over its entire width.
Subsequently, the refining and improvement of ditches in concrete, nonexistent in the area to be treated.
The proposed works are justified by the need to improve the road that is currently very deteriorated due to the lack of pavement on the road.
The execution period established for carrying out the works is one month from the signing of the stakeout act, and the general budget amounts to 153,928.49 euros.
It should be noted that these actions are complemented by other work previously carried out on the Camino Viejo, including repairing paving and improving lighting with the installation of 130 streetlights by the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
