Students from the IES Rambla de Nogalte participate in this project with visits to the Casa de los Duendes Cultural Center, the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church and the Nogalte Castle.
The researcher from Lima Ana Isabel Ponce has launched the Saturn project in the municipality, framed in her doctoral thesis and funded by the Seneca Foundation.
With it he seeks to promote the development of creative, scientific and critical thinking through heritage and its use as a historical source.
In this sense, during the academic year 2017/2018, in collaboration with the IES Rambla de Nogalte of Puerto Lumbreras, a local heritage work project is being carried out.
In this didactic project some of the most significant patrimonial elements of the municipality have been used for the construction of a historical discourse proper to the students.
In this way, 2nd and 4th ESO students participate in this initiative with visits to the Casa de los Duendes Cultural Center, the Nuestra Señora del Rosario Church and the Nogalte Castle, which have been used as sources to discover the past.
In relation to that last patrimonial element, the Castle of Nogalte, the researcher has carried out a didactic proposal in which, from ten challenges posed as a gymkhana, the students have been able to understand the birth of Puerto Lumbreras, its location and its inevitable relationship with the Lorca lands.
This experience, which has been carried out this week, has had the collaboration of Professor Jorge Ortuño of the University of Murcia.
According to Ana Isabel Ponce, "the project, which is ongoing, has as its ultimate goal to develop the necessary skills to think about history, from the hand of a critical creation more than necessary."
