The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities and the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras continue to collaborate in matters of home help.
Counsel Violante Tomás and Mayor Maria Angeles Tunisia today signed the extension of the agreement by which the Murcian Institute of Social Action (IMAS) finances more than 476,000 euros, spread over the two years of the agreement, the provision of this service dependent on the municipality, and this year will benefit up to 68 people.
The Community will allocate 1.3 million euros this year to subsidize the home help service in 11 municipalities (Jumilla, Ricote, Villanueva del Río Segura, Ulea, Mula, Aledo, Albudeite, Lorquí, Blanca, Campos del Río and Molina de Segura) and the Commonwealth of the Eastern Region (Abanilla, Beniel, Fortuna and Santomera), according to the request made by them.
Violante Tomás explained that "the service, dependent on the Municipal Social Services, seeks professional attention to dependents in their homes and continuously monitors their situation."
The owner of Family said that "home help will create more than one hundred jobs, mainly female in these municipalities, as it is a feminized sector."
In this sense, the hiring by the city councils of caregivers is encouraged to attend to the beneficiaries of the service.
The home help service offers support in the personal hygiene and in the mobilization inside the home, help in the taking of medicines, punctual accompaniments outside the home, collection and management of recipes or documents, help in the cleaning of the house, acquisition of food and other basic products on behalf of the user or preparation of meals, among others.
