The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras plans to initiate a citizen participation procedure for the execution of the Works and Services Plan.
The Community will allocate 267,116 euros to the Cooperation Plan for Works and Services of municipal competence of Puerto Lumbreras for annuities 2018/2019.
Once approved the criteria, objectives and priorities of the Plan, by the Regional Council of Local Cooperation, the general direction of Local Administration has begun the preparatory work for the preparation of this plan, which allocates an investment of more than 250,000 euros for the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
In total, the Works and Services Plan of Puerto Lumbreras amounts to 281,175 euros, taking into account the contribution of the City of 14,059 euros.
For the execution of the Works and Services Plan, the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras plans to initiate a citizen participation procedure so that the Lumbrerenses can decide which works will be carried out with the public money.
The mayor of the town, M ª Angeles Tunisia, has been satisfied by the investment made by the regional government in Puerto Lumbreras and stressed that "will be implemented adequacy and remodeling works to improve the condition of our streets, roads, infrastructure and other public spaces, depending on the demands made by citizens. "
In addition, Tunisia added that "this year we have expanded the budget allocated to participatory budgets with the aim that Lumbrerenses have more and more weight in the decisions made in our town."
The participatory budgets are framed within the Transparency and Citizen Participation Plan, launched by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.
To conclude, Tunisia has concluded that "with this initiative we move towards a more participatory democracy model and improve the quality of municipal management".
