The mayor thanked the effort made by the companies "to successfully overcome the marked audits that allow to renew this distinctive quality".
The mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Maria Angeles Tunisia, and the head of service of the Directorate General of Tourism, Julio Vizuete, have today delivered to 15 establishments in the municipality the renewal of the SICTED quality tourism badge.
SICTED is a project to improve the quality of tourist destinations, promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism, with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which works with companies and tourist services of up to 33 different jobs, with the ultimate goal of improving the experience and satisfaction of the tourist.
The SICTED methodology provides an integral and permanent quality management system in a tourist destination with a new conception of the expected results, a focus on continuous improvement and an attitude of recovery and enhancement of resources and space.
The mayor of the town thanked the effort made by tourism companies and services "successfully overcome the audits marked that allow them to renew this distinctive quality." He also stressed that "with the badge is recognized the great work that our companies to provide quality tourist services. "
The companies and other establishments that renew the tourist quality emblem are Raiguero Restaurant, Tourist Office, Local Police, El Ruedo Bar, Aldea La Purísima Rural House, Ethnographic Agriculture and Livestock Hall of the Casa del Cura, Medina Nogalte, Astronomical Observatory , Mesón Villarejo, Guirrete Restaurant, Nature Interpretation Center, House of the Duendes, Hotel Riscal, Las Águilas del Sol and Viajes Mercurio.
The distinction, granted by the Tourism Institute of Spain (Turespaña) and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), recognizes the work of lumbrerenses companies to optimize and improve the quality of services provided in the municipality.
It should be noted that the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras offers local entrepreneurs free technical assistance to implement the system, providing them with a methodology and specific training on tourism quality.
Mª Ángeles Tunisia explained that "our goal is to improve the quality of local businesses and promote a business culture of excellence to increase the satisfaction of tourists visiting our municipality."
In this way, the Sicted project unifies the quality criteria of the services offered in Puerto Lumbreras through specialized technical advice to all companies directly or indirectly linked to the tourism sector.
Likewise, work is being done to improve services through training and advisory plans aimed at tourism companies.
In addition, the project offers numerous advantages for businesses and tourism services in the municipality, such as improvements in internal management, technical assistance, and increased equipment qualification.
