Ángel Alfonso Muñoz presented his novel "Awake" yesterday at the Socio-Cultural Center Casa de los Duendes in Puerto Lumbreras.
The event was attended by about fifty citizens, including the Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Mª Victoria Jerez.
The writer shows in his work a completely new vision of human cryogenesis.
It is a story about the sacrifice of a mother, a disease, hope in cryogenesis and the fatality of time and the unexpected.
This fictional novel tells the story of Susan Campbell, a woman with a terminal illness.
Susan has a young daughter and the fear of dying without being able to help her grow leads to a controversial decision: she decides to cry out in the hope that the preservation of her frozen body, while medicine finds a cure for her illness, allows her to return to life in the not too distant future, to be able to guide the girl until she becomes a woman. Her family is involved with her in this project, but things will not go as expected.
The author has stressed that "it is a hard story, but with unexpected and impacting situations, whoever reads it will not be indifferent, sometimes he will feel sorry and in others he will be surprised by certain developments of the events that will make him get excited. that in some of these situations he felt like applauding. "
The Councilor for Culture praised the work of the writer and explained that "the plot develops a psychological conflict of a woman who goes through harsh physical and emotional situations.Its reading is addictive, absorbed from the beginning and will not leave anyone indifferent."

He was born in San Adrián del Besós (Barcelona) on June 24, 1958. At eleven months of age his family moved to Pulpí (Almería).
From a very young age he was fond of reading and literature, especially novels and poetry.
Almost on the verge of turning eighteen years of age, he went to a competition to work in a bank, which was then Caja Rural Provincial de Almeria, today Cajamar.
He exceeded them and entered it, staying until early retirement, in 2016. Early retirement has allowed him to have time to recover that vocation that comes from childhood: writing.
Finishing this novel has taken almost eleven months, between writing and subsequent corrections.
For almost two of them he has been looking for any information to describe the processes of cryonization, in order to transfer them to the content of his pages.
"Awakening" is suopera prima, but it will not be the only one.
To continue in the literary world is his intention;
In fact, he is already working on a new story.
