The Director General of the Institute of Tourism, Manuel Fernández-Delgado, together with the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, María Ángeles Tunisia, delivered this morning the certificates of professionalism to the participants of the program of basic operations of restaurant and kitchen, held in 2016 at the municipality.
In total, 29 unemployed have overcome the training itineraries on Basic Operations of Restaurant and Bar and Kitchen Operations (level I).
As explained by the head of the Tourism Institute, "the certificates of professionalism of the Regional Employment Service and Training and Tourism Qualification Center are valid throughout the national territory and demonstrate a qualification of excellence." Thus, getting one is a key boost in the curriculum and broadens job opportunities. "
In fact, the unemployed who complete these training have a high rate of employment.
Some 70 percent of those who are accredited get a job once the training action has been completed.
Training is one of the priorities of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment and one of the lines of action of the Gastronomic Plan in order to improve the employability of human capital, to respond effectively to the needs of the market and to configure profiles labor requirements that companies require.
Bringing this training dimension to all the destinations in the Region is also one of the main challenges of the Tourist Qualification Center.
In this sense, since 2016 the Tourism Institute, through the decentralization plan, has taught more than 90 courses in 17 municipalities with 1,389 students.
Of these, in Puerto Lumbreras, two certificates of professionalism have been taught during this period, with the Riscal Hotel as an approved space.
Fernández-Delgado also announced that "in 2018 a new certificate of professionalism will be offered to unemployed people in this municipality, this time it will be a new edition of basic kitchen operations and its beginning is scheduled for September."
Puerto Lumbreras, destination of SICTED Quality
The director of the Tourism Institute took advantage of his intervention to highlight "the commitment of the municipality with the tourist quality" and recalled that last Friday all the companies accredited with the certification of the Integral System of Tourist Quality in Destinations (SICTED) in Puerto Lumbreras, 15 In total, they received their distinction in a ceremony where the diversity of trades that participate in the project became evident.
This group includes hotels, rural lodgings, travel agencies, restaurants, citizen security, tourist information office and other services, highlighting, in number, the resources linked to cultural heritage with five museums and distinguished tourist attractions that can be visited.
The Region currently has seven SICTED destinations: Murcia, Sierra Espuña, Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, Águilas, Mazarrón and San Javier, with a total of 227 distinguished establishments.
One of the lines of work of the Tourism Institute is the promotion of the expansion and consolidation of regional SICTED destinations, recently receiving, within the framework of Fitur, the first prize as the best SICTED Supranational Public Administration with the greatest progress and development in the 2017 territory.
The SICTED program of the Secretary of State for Tourism aims to ensure that tourists visiting a destination perceive optimum levels of quality throughout their consumption itinerary.
This integral and permanent management of quality is aimed at increasing tourist satisfaction and contributing to their loyalty.
