The Socio-Cultural Center Casa de los Duendes hosts, until April 3, a temporary exhibition that shows the most characteristic details of the Holy Week of Puerto Lumbreras.
The inauguration of the exhibition, which was held last night, was attended by more than fifty people, including the mayor of the town, Mª Ángeles Tunisia, the councilor for Culture and Tourism, Mª Victoria Jerez, and the presidents of the local brotherhoods.
The exhibition gathers pieces of costumes from the three brotherhoods of the municipality, banners, lithographs, lanterns and musical instruments of local groups such as cornets and drums.
In the same way, the exhibition includes the posters announcing Holy Week from 1990 to the present.
The Councilor for Culture and Tourism, Mª Victoria Jerez, stressed that "Puerto Lumbreras shows the best of its Holy Week in the House of the Duendes, people who visit this exhibition will know an important part of the patrimony of our Holy Week."
The show also has audiovisual material.
Visitors can see in video images a summary of the processions carried out by each of the three Holy Week Confraternities.
The exhibition is open to the public from Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
To conclude, the Councilor for Culture and Tourism has encouraged citizens to visit this exhibition and make "a tour of our Holy Week contemplating up close tunics, uniforms, musical instruments, ornaments, images and the main banners of the three brotherhoods."
Inauguration Plaza de las Cofradías
Last night, the Plaza de las Cofradías was inaugurated, located on Francisco Tirado Street.
Improvement work has been carried out and the titular images of the Ancient and Venerable Brotherhood of the Most Holy Virgin of Sorrows, Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Most Holy Christ of the Faith and Holy Mary of Mercy, and Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus Nazareno have been installed. .
