Puerto Lumbreras hosted yesterday the International Festival of Poetry and Art "Grito de Mujer", an event that is celebrated in more than 30 countries of the world and that yesterday gathered many people in the auditorium of the Cultural Center of the municipality.
The melody and the poem joined in a symbiosis of energy to shout against abuse, inequality, discrimination and violence against women.
In this way, poems and prose of all styles were recited, some of them written expressly for this act.
Among the participating poets were Magdalena Blesa, Rosa Raya, Loli Ibarra, Francisco J. Motos, Manuel Morales, Ana Martinez, and Mª del Mar Hellín.
Attendees could also enjoy music and dance with the performances of the Aires Flamencos youth group or maestro Marcos Romera on guitar, among others.
In the same way, the performance of Carmen Martínez with the monologue of the mother in the work Bodas de Sangre by Federico García Lorca also took place.
All activities were free and sought, in addition to promoting the poetic participation of different authors, raise their voices against violence towards women.
It should be noted that the festival was presented and coordinated by Carmen Martínez, a member of the Llamaradas association, and was attended by Pedro Vera, ambassador of the "Grito de la Mujer" in the Region of Murcia.
This festival aims to bring together men and women poets and solidarity artists in various countries, to pay a deserved tribute to women, contributing socially to carry messages of self-esteem and respect for women, in addition to messages against violence.
