The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras has initiated the procedures for the creation of a Municipal Council for Economic, Business and Commercial Development.
It is a collegial body of participatory and consultative nature that will serve as a forum for a continuous dialogue with the representatives of the aforementioned sectors.
Thus, the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia has already made public the initial approval of this regulation that has previously been approved by the Municipal Plenary of the City of Puerto Lumbreras.
The purpose of the Council is to establish a regulatory channel through which the demands raised by sectors subject to this municipal council are channeled;
enhance the competitiveness of the local economic and commercial sectors through innovative actions;
as well as analyzing the economic, business and commercial fabric of the city.
Among the functions assigned to the Council is to encourage dialogue between business organizations and consumer organizations, as well as to provide conciliation between the two for the solution of complaints;
issue non-binding reports;
formulate proposals to the City Council with solutions to problems and demands;
serve as an information body on the situation of the business sector in Puerto Lumbreras;
facilitate information and the relationship between the different entities and people linked to companies and commerce in the Region of Murcia.
The Municipal Council will be chaired by the mayor and will have two vice presidents and a secretary.
In addition, the council will be formed by the Councilor for Employment and Commerce, a representative of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras and a representative of the Association of Entrepreneurs Aseplu.
Likewise, a representative of the hospitality and catering sector, a representative of the neighborhood associations, a representative of the Sectoral Council for Citizen Security and six representatives of different groups or sectors related to the economy, trade and commerce will also be present in this body. and the hostelry of the municipality.
It should be noted that the Municipal Council will meet at least four times a year in ordinary sessions by call of its president.
In addition, it will meet in an extraordinary manner as many times as deemed appropriate by the president or a quarter of its members.
The Councilor for Employment and Commerce, Ángela Morillas, explained that "with this initiative we want to create a forum for debate open to the proposals and concerns of Lumbrerenses linked to the economic, business and commercial sectors.It will be configured as a meeting point in which will adopt agreements that will influence the decisions and actions of the City. "
