The categories Adult, Youth and Children are occupied by women who collect their prizes between narrations shared by attendees in two short story marathons.

The Department of Culture and Tourism of the City of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Municipal Library Network, has distinguished the best readers of the year 2017. A recognition that is part of the extensive programming made on the occasion of the Book Day as throughout the month of April with very diverse activities.

The Adult Prize went to Isabel Rosa Romero Carrillo and the Youth Award for Lucía Rodríguez Mateo.

Both have been able to enjoy this recognition among family and friends in a meeting in which attendees have been able to participate through the VI Short Story Marathon for Adults "Do you dare to read us your favorite short story or any story that has left its mark ? ", held at the Casa de los Duendes Cultural Center.

Pamela García Parra has been awarded the Children's Prize in an appointment that gave way to the VI Short Story Marathon for children "Parents, mothers, grandparents tell us their favorite story", in the facilities of the Municipal Library of the town.

The councilman of Culture, María Victoria Jerez, has highlighted the importance of carrying out recognitions like these since "it is a way to bring together all those Lumbrerenses who have in common one of the best hobbies that they can have, reading, as well as motivating the use of the excellent facilities that we have in the locality ".

It should be noted that the programming of the Month of the Book continues on April 26 in the Parque de La Estación-Esparragal and on May 3 in the Park Augusto Vels with the activity "Biblioparque", in which the little ones can enjoy the outdoor reading.

Finally, Mª Victoria Jerez stressed that "our goal is to encourage and promote reading in a fun way, bringing the services of the municipal library to all children in the municipality."
