Miriam Lara and Adela García Olivares make different murals from a didactic approach, introducing architectural and natural elements of the town.
The Sacred Heart CEIP of Puerto Lumbreras has begun the work of improving its recreational spaces with an artistic intervention project carried out by two well-known local plastic artists, Miriam Lara and Adela García Olivares.
The initiative, carried out thanks to the collaboration of the lumbrerense public school, the AMPA Sacred Heart and the Department of Education of the City of Puerto Lumbreras, has begun with the realization of a main mural based on elements of the solar system.
"The initial idea of ​​teachers and parents was to introduce, in addition to color, an appropriate educational approach for a center of these particularities, so the approach has been to mix striking and didactic elements at the same time," says Lara.
A work that continues this week with the development of a second mural, this time inspired, confirms Olivares, "in traditional elements of the town such as the architecture of the Nogalte Castle, but also other natives with native plants today, as is the case of the popular prickly pears ".
It is a task, say both, also of awareness so that children can have fun in an environment where they also recognize important elements of their immediate environment.
The third phase of action will take place in the play space of the Children's stage, in addition to the installation of a climbing wall in the Primary stage.
