The Equine Livestock Fair of Puerto Lumbreras will take place on Saturday, May 5th and Sunday, May 6th.
Known as Feria Grande, it is one of the most traditional local events since it is one of the oldest meetings of these characteristics in Spain.
In this edition is expected the arrival of almost half a thousand copies that will be exhibited in the 20,000 square meters of the facilities of the Local Market lumbrerense, hosting purebred Spanish horses from the Andalusian comund.
In uninterrupted hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., the fair will include this year as a novelty an exhibition of machinery and agricultural implements in which local companies will participate that will show the latest developments in the sector.
An initiative of the Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock, Water and Pedanías, José María Parra, who stressed that "it is very important to give visibility and prominence to the great professionals that Puerto Lumbreras has in the livestock and agricultural sector, not only because recognize their much-needed work, but also to promote their great potential and grow together in this sector. "
To encourage the participation of more farmers coming from different parts of the Spanish geography, the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras maintains the elimination of some of the fees made in previous editions, such as the entry of animal transport vehicles or cattle heads. .
This appointment began at the beginning of the twentieth century in the bed of the Rambla de Nogalte, being recently moved to the facilities of the Local Cattle Market of Puerto Lumbreras.
In this way, the site located on the road of La Estación-El Esparragal concentrates the celebration of this type of fairs as the most ideal space where professionals display their products, with the presence of artisans and merchants.
