Coinciding with the opening of new trail, the municipality has signed a collaboration agreement with Grupo Tragsa to boost infrastructure development and activities in the natural environment of the locality.
The town of Puerto Lumbreras has a new ecotourism trail on astronomy in the natural environment Cabezo la Jara.
The Mayor of the town, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, President of the Group Tragsa, Maria Luisa Granada, and the general director of Irrigation and Rural Development, Julio Bernal, inaugurated this morning the new trail built in the town after winning the Group Award Tragsa Sustainable Development in Rural Areas by the project 'Rural Development Plan Cabezo de la Jara. "
"With the new path we provide our municipality astronomical new tourism alternatives related to the environment. At 1,500 meters of road, and the Astronomical Observatory as a starting point, the new trail offers visitors a solar system scale represented 1,500 meters, "said the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez.
The new trail, which was built jointly between the Council and the Group Tragsa, with an investment of 60,000 euros.
Thus, the path consists of 1,500 meters and cross the natural environment Cabezo la Jara, and incorporates two solar and a lunar clocks strategically placed along the route.
On the other hand, the path includes a solar system with planets drawn to scale, and through three viewpoints Signage and forms an ideal route for observation, contemplation and study of astronomy.
In this sense, the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "our intention is to provide the tourist town of new features, and also enhance learning and research related to astronomy."
The Astronomical Observatory Cabezo de la Jara, situated at an altitude of 1246 meters and 7 kilometers from the center of Puerto Lumbreras, is established as the starting point of the new path.
Facilities include a dome, an observation room, a reflecting telescope and astronomy classroom.
Collaboration Agreement
