The municipality has participated for the first year the summer courses at the Universidad del Mar. Over 30 students have trained with the University Conference on Science for over 50 years have included several lectures, case studies and guided tours of the town to train students.
Puerto Lumbreras has received throughout this week the first University of Elders organized in the Region of Murcia University and included in the 2010 academic offerings of the Universidad del Mar. This morning, the Councillor for Education, Isabel García, along with the director University of the Sea, Manuel Lopez, have closed the days for which more than thirty students.
During the course we have covered five thematic groups, each with a theoretical part with round tables and conferences, and other practice in which students have developed practices and workshops.
In addition, the program has been completed throughout the week with a module cultural entertainment which included guided tours, excursions and tours of the town.
Thus, among the contents of the Senior University has highlighted 'Science and everyday life', 'Universe' or 'Health Promotion'.
Also, have formed in other subjects such as 'New Technologies' and 'Environment'.
