The new trail is located in the natural environment and incorporates Jara Cabezo the solar system represented at 1,500 meters with two sundials and one lunar.
The City Council launched a program to promote rural tourism development in the town during the summer months, including visits to the new Path Astronomical during the months of July and August.

More than 500 people have toured the new Astronomical Path to Puerto Lumbreras counts since last June.
Visits to the new path is developed through the Program for Promotion of Rural Tourism launched the consistory lumbrerense to promote this sector during the summer months.
The trail consists of 1,500 meters and cross the natural environment Cabezo la Jara, and incorporates two solar and a lunar clocks located strategically along the route.
It also includes a solar system with planets drawn to scale, and through three viewpoints Signage and forms an ideal route for observation, contemplation and study of astronomy.
In this sense, the Councillor for Tourism, Ginés David Piñero, explained that "the path gives the new attributes tourist town, and also enhances the learning and research related to astronomy."
The Astronomical Observatory Cabezo de la Jara, situated at an altitude of 1246 meters and 7 kilometers from the center of Puerto Lumbreras, is established as the starting point of the new path.
Facilities include a dome, an observation room, a reflecting telescope and astronomy classroom.
