It has reshaped the intersection with the way the weapon, which gives access to farms and ranches in the northern city of orchard

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, accompanied by the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, today opened the roundabout of the Carnations in that municipality.

It is an infrastructure with which the regional government removes a stretch of concentration of accidents on the road that connects the center of the town with the hamlet of La Station-Esparragal.

"This infrastructure is part of the actions that the regional government developed to remove the black spots on the National Road Network of the Community, in order to increase the safety of all Murcia and achieve a progressive reduction in accidents," said responsible autonomy.

The adviser added that this action "will benefit the two million vehicles that travel annually by this route."

The works, which have received an investment of 298,100 euros, has involved the refurbishment of the intersection with the path of the weapon, which gives access to the northern part of the garden of the municipality where you will find many farms and ranches.

In particular, it has built a gazebo within 30 meters in diameter and 41 outside diameter, with one lane of 5.5 meters wide and one meter shoulders.

Have also been installed signaling elements, both horizontal and vertical, and the corresponding marking in addition to the lighting of the new infrastructure and the construction of an adequate drainage system.

'The new roundabout has, as ornament, a carnation, the traditional symbol of the garden in the region and a tribute to the growers of the municipality, "explained the director.

José Ballesta said the roundabout "improve the distribution of traffic on this route as well as facilitating the access of vehicles from rural road that serves an area of farming and ranching, and changes of meaning."

Similarly, he added, "the improvements will also result directly in increased security for the people who have their homes in the vicinity of this road."
