The town has celebrated Columbus Day with a ceremony of certificates to over 300 jurantes who participated in the Pledge of Civil Flag of the General Air Academy in the town.

The town of Puerto Lumbreras has joined the celebrations of Columbus Day with various events in honor of the Spanish flag.
