The archaeological site of the small island of Puerto Lumbreras has been declared of Cultural Interest by the General Directorate of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets of the Region of Murcia.
The archaeological site corresponds to an agricultural settlement of the culture of the Argar, framed between 2000 and 1500 BC, and it is localized exclusively ceramic material.
The purpose of documentation of the Islice to protect and preserve the archaeological heritage of the locality.
According to the Councillor for Tourism, Ginés David Piñero, "This is the fifth site listed as a cultural interest in the town during this month. These sites help convey the history of the town at different times."
