Many women have participated in the rally organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer and the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras on the occasion of World Breast Cancer to be held on Tuesday 19 October.

Many people, mostly women, participated this morning at the Third People's March in Puerto Lumbreras, developed on the occasion of International Breast Cancer to be held on Tuesday 19 October.
The initiative, organized jointly by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras and the Spanish Association Against Cancer of the town, began with a rally at Plaza de la Constitution, and a popular march that led attendees through the Church of Our Lady . del Rosario, where a Mass was held in honor of those who have or have had the disease.
Among those attending the merger were representatives of the government team as the Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, M ª Angeles Tunisia, the Councillor for Health, Matile Gloria Garcia, or the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez.
In addition, the ceremony also attended the president of the Spanish Association against Cancer in Puerto Lumbreras, Ana Maria Cerrillo, accompanied by members of the association lumbrerense and other local groups.
"For the third consecutive year the town of Puerto Lumbreras driving this massive merger that aims to promote basic information activities and advice on the disease and early detection," said the Councillor for Health, Gloria Matilde García.
In addition, Garcia, who has read at the rally the manifest and the European Code Against Breast Cancer, stressed "the importance of social awareness, as each day are detected 40 cases of breast cancer in Spain."
After reading the manifesto, members of the AECC, they have handed pink ribbons, which are established as the hallmark of this disease is considered one of the leading causes of death among women.
Therefore, according to Garcia, "the awareness campaigns are very important to call attention to a population that sees this disease distant to their lives. The early diagnosis allows an extension of 10 years of life in 90 percent of cases. "
