Puerto Lumbreras greatly decreased the rate of unemployment during the month of October with the creation of 44 new jobs.
Thus, the town continues the trend set in 2010 in which a row was reduced unemployment rate.
According to the local mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "Puerto Lumbreras continues to create opportunities. We continue with the trend set in 2010 with one of the best performers throughout the year. According to the latest data from the Regional Service Centre for Employment and Training, the town has been greatly reduced unemployment by creating 44 new jobs and an unemployment rate reaching 9.17%.
Thus, the unemployment rate in the municipality is 11 points lower compared to the national average stands at 20.8% according to the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).
In this regard, Sanchez explained that "the local unemployment continues to fall with better results demonstrate once again that Puerto Lumbreras is one of the first municipalities to resolve the crisis."
Therefore, the municipality continues to increase measures to promote employment in the town, among which career guidance services, employment exchange, or Local Training Plan which includes more than a hundred training programs annually.
On the other hand, the session starts the Corporate Campaign, which includes counseling, training and monitoring to enhance the implementation of new business.
It has also recently launched the program to the Employment Personal Routes consisting of different theoretical and practical workshops to facilitate and promote skills development of unemployed persons to encourage their employment.
Finally, the council, in collaboration with the Regional Government continues to push new infrastructure that promote the development of the business of the municipality.
Recently opened the new Center for Entrepreneurship, will soon launch a new business incubator for women, and is now running the expansion of industrial area for conversion into a huge business park within the shaft Lorca-Puerto Lumbreras.
