The Government of Spain is investing more than 6.7 million in the last three years in Puerto Lumbreras

The government delegate in the Region of Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Director General of Tourism, Marina Garcia, visited this morning the current state of the works of Product Promotion Plan Tourism in Puerto Lumbreras Nogalte Medina Castle and its surroundings.

The performances are scheduled investment financed equally by the three governments, central, regional and local levels of 3.3 million distributed in three annual installments.

The delegate pointed out that the main objective of this Plan is the planning of actions in terms of infrastructure and tourist facilities, especially in relation to the enhancement of Nogalte Castle Hill and the environment, in Puerto Lumbreras.

The Plan contains twelve lines of action for the provision of tourist facilities, among which the virtual viewpoint of the past, the coverage and improving the open-air auditorium, arrangement and theming of the houses of the Castle Hill Caves, matching slopes and improving access to the Castle.

It also includes the development of space tourism and improving communication, signaling, quality training, promotion and marketing.

The visit this morning has reviewed the actions that are currently running as the themes of the cave houses for use as exhibition rooms, improved access to the castle by the Cuesta de la Pava, improving the round perimeter Castle and improving the landscape of north slope.

Also at an early stage to improve pedestrian access from the Old Town.

Finally, Gonzalez Tovar took stock of the major investments that the Government of Spain is making in this legislature in Puerto Lumbreras.

In this regard, he recalled that it is receiving more than 6.7 million in the last three years through the Ministry of Land Policy, the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade in the various activities of Plan E, arrangements of the Civil Guard headquarters or the new post office, in addition to the above actions within the Plan to Promote Tourism Product.
