The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Director General for Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval, have been delivered this morning of a new vehicle adapted to the Association of Alzheimer Lumbrerense (Hamlet), to facilitate mobility to people affected by the disease in the municipality.
The new vehicle has nine seats, two of them accessible to wheelchairs, allowing easy transport to the members of the Village Association.
So, the mayor of the town, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "once again the City Council and the regional government show its support for the family and Alzheimer's patients by providing them with new equipment location. Through the collaboration agreement formalizes the council annually with the association, Hamlet develops a Plan of Action to promote measures that improve the quality of life of patients with Alzheimer's in town. "
For its part, the director general of Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval, explained that "with the financing of this new adapted vehicle, the regional government and local corporation seek to facilitate the everyday people who suffer from Alzheimer's and their families and caregivers in addition to achieving the highest degree of integration in society and quality of life through participation in various activities and workshops organized by the association. "
Together with the Ministry and the local corporation, the Foundation and other private Cajamurcia assist in the financing of this new vehicle that will serve the nonprofit organization that has over 70 members today.
Association of Alzheimer Lumbrerense (Village)
The Village Association is a nonprofit organization formed in November 2006 and formed by relatives of Alzheimer patients and professionals from various fields such as psychology, physiotherapy, social work and other disciplines involved in the care of Alzheimer's disease.
Its activity, financed by contributions and donations of members and by grants from public bodies, arises through private initiatives to the needs expressed by families of Alzheimer patients in Puerto Lumbreras.
