Among the new initiatives to be launched by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras lighting emphasizes renewal and improvements in energy efficiency of heating systems in public buildings.
The performances will be included in the Strategic Plan Ecopuerto 2008-2012, and have an investment of 80,000 euros, to "promote energy saving in buildings and facilities of the town."
The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, will support new measures in the field of energy saving and energy efficiency in the locality.
Specifically, "these are new measures to encourage improved energy efficiency of existing lighting facilities, or renovation of existing thermal plants in public facilities," says Sanchez.
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, stressed that "through these new initiatives to continue enhancing our commitment to sustainable development and environmental quality in the field of efficiency and energy savings, which are as an immediate priority for the council. "
Thus, the planned actions have an investment of 80,000 euros, and include various policy areas such as improved energy efficiency of heating systems, or the replacement of exterior lighting.
So, first highlighted the renovation of public outdoor lighting installations, to replace the lighting basing it on current and efficient technologies, applying savings.
In this area emphasizes the replacement of mercury vapor lamps and sodium vapor high pressure, replacement of fixtures, installation of light level adjustment, or installation of LED technology in traffic lights.
On the other hand, we also develop strategies to improve energy efficiency in heating systems of buildings, with the objective to "reduce energy consumption for heating, cooling and hot water."
It is also planned energy rehabilitation of the thermal envelope of public buildings in the locality.
"The goal of this is to reduce energy demand for heating and cooling of buildings, through the rehabilitation of fences and decks," says Sanchez.
Finally, Sanchez concluded explaining that "these initiatives planned are also included in the Strategic Plan Ecopuerto 2008 - 2012 which contains more than 150 specific measures to increase sustainable development and environmental respect."
