The autonomous region with 605,000 euros funded the new Center for Women in Puerto Lumbreras, opened today by the Minister for Social Policy, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, accompanied by the mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the director general of Social Affairs and Immigration Equality, Leopoldo Navarro.
The new Center for Women, municipally owned, has more than 900 square meters to develop games and educational activities for women in the municipality.
The facilities will be located at the various existing women's associations in the municipality (Mujeres Amigas Without Borders, Foreign Women 'New Hope' and Housewives 'Peñas Blancas').
In addition, the center will serve as a framework for the conduct of all activities promoted by the Department of Equal Opportunity, which, likewise, be placed in this chamber.
There is also space for the Center for Assistance to Victims of Domestic Violence (CAVI), which offers support services and individual counseling to all women who suffer or have suffered some form of abuse.
To carry out all planned activities, the center has a classroom of new technologies, as well as four classrooms and workshop workshop of embroidery, cuisine and language, and everything to improve the training of women lumbrerense.
In addition, there is a hall with a capacity of more than 300 attendees, which may be held from conference committees.
