Puerto Lumbreras has launched participatory workshops, cultural activities and social skills courses for people at risk of social exclusion.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Social Policy, participates in the European project "+ RESPECT" funded by the European Fundamental Rights and Justice, which works to eradicate discrimination against Roma and other European ethnic minorities.
This morning, the Councillor for Employment and Social Policy, has visited with members of Roma in Puerto Lumbreras, the information booth which is located at the Cultural Center of the town and exposes some of the objectives and work done through Project "+ RESPECT."
Tunisia has explained that "Puerto Lumbreras is the first town in Spain working on this project with other municipalities in different European countries like Italy, Belgium or Sweden, with the goal of fully integrating this group into society and ethnic minorities through workshops, cultural activities and social skills courses for people at risk of social exclusion, among other initiatives. "
Also, the City of Puerto Lumbreras, has organized a seminar framed in the project "+ RESPECT" in which representatives of all groups of the town councilors and social policy education and neighboring municipalities, and members of Gypsy community, which has presented the results of the project, both municipal and European level.
