Distributed more than 7,000 kilos of food to the neediest families (04/05/2011)

The City Council, in partnership with Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo and Caritas will distribute 7,000 kilos of nonperishable food to the poorest families in the locality.

Mayor Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and Territorial President of Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo, Ángel Martínez has done this morning to deliver the food to be distributed through Social Services.

The City Council of Puerto Lumbreras in collaboration with Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM) and Caritas, distributed 7,000 kilos of nonperishable food to the poorest families.

The new food supply will meet the needs of the poorest population of the municipality of Puerto Lumbreras.

According to the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez "in these difficult economic times should be closer to the population weaker and thus more difficult to ensure the needs of families for various reasons find themselves in a disadvantaged position. With this new food reserves guarantee the basic needs of families who need it most "
