The ordinance passed regulating the use of electronic means in the field of municipal administration, and sets the principles and guidelines that will follow the City Council to continue promoting the development of eGovernment.

Puerto Lumbreras City Council unanimously approved at the last plenary Municipal Ordinance Regulating the Electronic Administration to improve and promote municipal services through the Information Technology and Communication (ICT).
Thus, with the approval of this Ordinance as the session is intended to "regulate the use of electronic and digital media to deliver new municipal services, public information management formalities through the Internet among many other services."
In this sense, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "since the council are aware of the importance of acquiring new technologies and e-government to get closer to citizens and provide new services."
Therefore, Sanchez said, "Over the past years we have a special interest in offering more services lumbrerenses through websites, social networks and even new computer and electronic media in all public facilities."
Thus, the new ordinance regulating the eGovernment approved by the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras seeks to regulate the use of electronic media in the field of municipal administration in response to administrative transparency and proximity to citizens.
In addition, the Ordinance sets out the rights and duties to be present relations between citizens and municipal administration through electronic media, and legal conditions governing the use of electronic means in handling administrative procedures.
Also, says Smith "the Ordinance sets guidelines to be adopted by the municipality to continue promoting the development of eGovernment in Puerto Lumbreras as we have been doing years ago."
