Thus, the town continues the trend set in over a year in a row that has significantly reduced the unemployment rate.
According to the local mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, "Puerto Lumbreras continues the trend set for over a year, and since the session we work to strengthen measures in the field of labor market to become one of the first municipalities in out of the crisis. "
According to the latest data from the Regional Service Centre for Employment and Training, the town has reduced the unemployment reaching an unemployment rate of 8.70%.
Thus, the unemployment rate in the municipality is 13 points lower compared to the national average stands at 21.29% according to the National Institute of Statistics.
In this regard, Sanchez explained that "the local unemployment continues to fall with better results and continuing a trend that continues for more than a year."
Therefore, the City will continue to strengthen measures to promote employment in the town, among which career guidance services, employment exchange, or Local Training Plan which includes more than a hundred training programs annually.
In addition, the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, along with the Team, has designed new measures and major projects to promote economic development and employment in the town over the next 4 years.
Among these is the creation of the industrial axis Lorca-Puerto Lumbreras, tourism development as an engine of the economy, or the creation of a Formative Campus Hotel and Restaurant.
