The future retirement home is built on a plot of over 25,115 meters squared, which is located near to center of town.

Puerto Lumbreras City Council has taken steps to build a retirement home that will serve over 100 users in the locality.

Specifically, the session approved the Local Government to initiate proceedings to declare as a public building of the new residence for the elderly.

In addition, the proposed new public facilities including residence areas, classrooms for the development of workshops, bedrooms with en suite control area and warehouse, aisle doctor and medical services.

The project also includes a parking area with 160 beds and gardens for recreation and outdoor recreational users of the new residence.

So, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, concluded by explaining that "the new residence will serve people with different degrees of dependence. This is a new social facilities which will ensure the provision of services for older people so far nonexistent lumbrerenses in the municipality, and promote their quality of life. "
