The town of Puerto Lumbreras normally started the school year this morning at four schools in which they have enrolled over 1,500 students in kindergarten and primary education, increasing by 200 students over last year.
Thus, the mayor of the town has visited all the schools in the municipality where this summer there have been works of improvement and adaptation, and in which since 2007 has invested more than 6 million euros and a half of that been earmarked for the expansion of schools and the construction of the new Sacred Heart Public School.
In this sense, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, explained that "education constitutes a priority for the government team. In recent years we have improved and expanded all schools, and we've built Sacred Heart Public School again benefiting nearly 500 schools in the locality "
New Infrastructures
During the inauguration of the school year, the mayor of the town took stock "positive" actions that have been developed in all schools, as well as new infrastructure is put at the service of lumbrerenses school.
So this year, the town of Puerto Lumbreras with the new Sacred Heart Public School provides an infrastructure of over 3,900 square feet on three floors, which have invested more than 4.5 million euros.
In addition, the new center has 19 classrooms and Primary, with capacity for 450 students.
