Over 200 lumbrerenses accompanied the Mayor of Lorca, Francisco Jodar, while reading the Proclamation of the Festival of Puerto Lumbreras in honor of the Virgen del Rosario
The Mayor of Lorca, Francisco last night opened Jódar Puerto Lumbreras Celebrations 2011 with the reading of the proclamation.
At 20:30 hours, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, accompanied by the Municipal Corporation to complete and hundreds of lumbrerenses received the Mayor of Lorca in the new space tourism and culture of the Casa del Cura Puerto Lumbreras where Festivities opened with the reading of the proclamation.
During the opening speech, Francisco Jodar made a description of the traditions and customs of Puerto Lumbreras, many people shared with Lorca.
He also highlighted the fervor of the festival of Puerto Lumbreras, in honor of the Virgen del Rosario, noting that both Lorca and Puerto Lumbreras have shared for many years, its roots and its history, and now we continue to strengthen ties, helping each other and working in the same direction.
Meanwhile, during the ceremony, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras dedicated a few words of thanks to Francisco Jodar for sharing with the lumbrerenses the beginning of their patron saint, since "are established as one of the most important days for the municipality celebrations in honor of the Patron and Honorary Mayor, Nuestra Señora Virgen del Rosario ".
Sanchez has also welcomed the cooperation of lumbrerenses and involvement of citizens to organize this new edition of the festivities.
When completed, the Town Band performed the official anthem of Puerto Lumbreras and gave a concert before more than 200 attendees.

Jódar Francisco Lorca was born in 1955, is married and father of two daughters.
He graduated in law from the University of Murcia and comptroller of the Defense Ministry on leave, and since 2007 the mayor of Lorca.
Jodar was also provincial delegate of the Social Institute of the Armed Forces of Murcia between 1992 and 1997, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the regional government between 1997 and 1999.
That same year he became president of the PP in Lorca.
He has held the mayor in the last five years and is considered a lover of art, history, sports, Easter and Lorca.
