The town of Puerto Lumbreras has joined the celebrations of Columbus Day with various events to honor the Spanish flag.
Local Authorities, Local Police, Guardia Civil and neighbors attended lumbrerenses official ceremony this morning in honor of the flag of Spain "to be held for 4 years in the town to mark the Day of the Virgen del Pilar, and in which lumbrerenses hundred joined in the tribute to the flag, "said Councilwoman and Public Safety Chair, Dolores Arenas.
At 11:00 am the day has begun in the gardens of Paco Rabal where he has held the ceremony in which they included members of the Municipal Corporation, and has subsequently raised the flag of Spain Anthem played by the Band Music to celebrate the National Day.
After the tribute has officiated a Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in honor of the Virgen del Pilar, Patroness of the Civil Guard.
