Puerto Lumbreras continues to record significant declines in the unemployment rate for more than one consecutive year.
In October, the town has continued to decrease the rate of unemployment already stands 11 points below the national average.
According to the local mayor, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, "from the consistory continued to work and strengthen measures to continue creating jobs in our town."
Thus, according to recent data from the Regional Service Centre for Employment and Training, the town has reduced the rate of unemployment stood at 10.43%.

In this sense, Sanchez explained that "the town continues to decline in the unemployment rate, although nationally the number of unemployed has increased considerably during the past month."
NEW MEASURES TO PROMOTE JOB CREATION
Thus, Sanchez has announced that "the City will continue to enhance measures to promote employment in the town" with new initiatives such as more prominent career guidance services through the Local Development Center and the Center for Entrepreneurship.
In addition, the session provides citizens an employment agency, a local training plan that includes more than a hundred a year training programs, or a new Entrepreneur's Guide to increase the support and advice to people who want launch new business ventures.
Sanchez has also explained that "the great projects of this new term in the municipality, we aim to promote development and job creation for Puerto Lumbreras is one of the first municipalities to overcome the crisis."
These major projects include the establishment of industrial axis Lorca-Puerto Lumbreras, tourism development as an engine of the local economy through the new Tourism Product Nogalte Medina, or the creation of a Formative Campus Hotel and Restaurant.
