The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has commemorated the International Day Against Violence Against Women with a program of activities promoted by the Department for Equal Opportunities for promoting "awareness in the prevention of gender violence."
The Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, participated in the conference which was held at the Center for Women in Puerto Lumbreras where many women have joined the town.
The conference, which began with the reading of the manifesto against Gender Violence, has had the distinction delivery to institutions, associations and groups of local people "for his work in the field of prevention of gender violence."
Thus, the winners were the local police in Puerto Lumbreras, which currently has a special brigade against gender violence, and the Civil Guard Corps.
