The 'Bureau for the Water' is constituted as a structure of participation and consultative in nature which will monitor and propose actions to obtain and exploit the water resources of the municipality.

The City Council has established the "Bureau for the Water for Puerto Lumbreras', a new advisory body will analyze and propose measures related to the procurement of water resources in the locality.
The Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, chairman of this new body of participation that is composed of 25 members among which representatives of farmers, businessmen and members of farming organizations, the Confederation of Employers, or the Community of Irrigators, among other .
In this sense, the Mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, explained that "this new body perform various functions related to the analysis and proposed measures to promote the management of water in the municipality."
Thus, Sanchez has noted the importance of "involve us all sectors affected by water scarcity measures to optimize and analyze the actions from the authorities put in place to ensure and enhance water resources."
Thus, the "Bureau for the Water for Puerto Lumbreras' report on local initiatives related to the acquisition of resources, and examine the uses to which water is used in the municipality.
Furthermore, the Bureau also "make initiatives and proposals on issues related to making better use of water as well as measures to solve the problems caused by water deficit," said Sanchez.
Thus, the 'Bureau for the Water for Puerto Lumbreras' is chaired by the Mayor, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, and another twenty-four people involved, as Councillor of Agriculture, Water and districts, José María Parra, and the Councillor for Sustainable Development, Salvadora Martinez.
Furthermore, the Bureau consists of the City Clerk, Juan Antonio Martínez, the president of the Community of Irrigators, Antonio Martinez, as well as representatives of the Agricultural Societies of the municipality as Cano and Balsa, Torrenueva Cooperative Society, or SAT abbots.
In this sense, also represented the Confederation of Employers ASEPLU and representatives of farming organizations with presence in Puerto Lumbreras as FECOAM, COAG, ASAJA, UPA or FECAMUR.
Also make up the 'Bureau of Water for Puerto Lumbreras' representatives of agricultural enterprises, and representatives of organizations of producers and exporters of fruits and vegetables as well as representatives of local agricultural cooperatives, municipal technician addressing issues related to water, and two local water experts.
