The Urban Sector Council is constituted as a structure of participation and consultative in nature which will monitor the proceedings related to planning in the locality.

The City of Puerto Lumbreras has become the new Urban Sector Council, which aims to "provide citizens the opportunity to participate in making decisions related to planning and urban management in the locality."
So, the Councillor of the Presidency, Dolores Arenas, explained that "the new Urban Sector Council was established as a new structure for participation and consultative in nature which will monitor all actions related to urban management in the municipality ".
Also, the functions of the new highlights Sector Council to inform citizens about local initiatives on urban management and review and discuss all issues related to urban planning of the locality.
In this sense, the citizen members of the Urban Sector Council may make raising initiatives or proposals and provide advice and Local Government to contribute ideas related to urban projects that are developed locally.
Thus, the Council is chaired by the Mayor, and also part of 17 representatives from various sectors and groups, such as three representatives of neighborhood associations, one representative from each political group represented in the Municipal Council, and representatives of companies the construction and development companies.
Also on the board a member of the Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Employers ASEPLU, Municipal Technical Office of the municipality Cattlemen Associations, Agricultural Transformation Companies, Community of Irrigators, and three experts in local planning matters.
In this sense, the Councillor of the Presidency, Dolores Arenas, explained that the new Municipal Council "will provide greater citizen participation in municipal decision-making, offering the possibility to make proposals on improving urban policies developed in our locality ' .
