The town of Puerto Lumbreras participates in the improvement of quality of tourist destinations SICTED to "optimize the tourist services and increase the satisfaction of the tourists visiting the municipality."
The project, promoted by the General Secretariat of Tourism and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, FEMP, includes various working groups, training plans, and expert technical advice to all companies directly or indirectly linked to tourism.
In this sense, the Mayor of the town, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, explained that "the City Council have made a strong commitment to tourism as a source of economic development that will favor job creation. With the participation of Puerto Lumbreras in SICTED project we aim to optimize and improve all tourist services that are provided in our municipality. "
