The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Equality of Opportunity, has organized a program that includes more than 30 cultural and leisure to commemorate Women's History Month coinciding with the celebration of Day of Working Women on 8 March.
This morning, the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Catherine Gázquez, presented the new programming accompanied by presidents and representatives of associations of women in Puerto Lumbreras.
In this sense, Gázquez, explained that "as every year, Puerto Lumbreras offers a monthly program directed and designed for women of the town to commemorate the Day of Working Women held on 8 March."
Thus Gázquez explained that "during the month will be held at the new Center for Women cultural, educational and leisure aimed at women of our town, and organized in collaboration with local associations of women lumbrerenses ".
Thus, the planned events will begin on March 1 with the opening of the exhibition "Works by Women" at 5:00 p.m. at the Center for Women.
The exhibition will run until March 30.
In addition, there will be plays, films, lectures and workshops.
Specifically, among the scheduled seminars and workshops, highlighting various issues such as paint, medicinal properties of plants, or promoting physical and emotional health.
In addition, between 5 and March 7 will be free sessions of massage and foot reflexology.
Furthermore, on March 3 there will be a meeting of women in Cabezo de la Jara organized by the Association of Women in Puerto Lumbreras.
It is expected that over 200 women to participate in a gathering in the countryside in the Cabezo de la Jara, which are scheduled over a dozen workshops and initiatives such as yoga, hiking, belly dancing or digital photography.
The program also includes film screenings in the new Women's Center and various conferences and guided tours of the Castle and Cave Houses Nogalte.
