The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the council's Equal Opportunities, will launch an Employment Plan for women with the aim to increase active policies to promote access for women working in the municipality.
Thus, the last Full Council approved a motion for the creation of new employment plan for women.
The motion was approved with 11 votes for the PP, with 2 abstentions UI and 3 votes against the PSOE.
In this sense, the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Catherine Gázquez, explained that "job creation is the highest priority for the government team right now. From all the departments are coordinating specific plans to promote job creation in all sectors of the local population ":
"Thus the Women's Employment Plan will include specific training programs for unemployed women and job counseling from the Center for Women, from where he also managed an employment for women with offers," says Councillor Equal Opportunities, catalina Gázquez.
In addition, the next scheduled launch of a new business incubator for women, located in the industrial area of ​​town, and which will increase business projects led by women in the locality.
In addition, the Employment Plan for Women will include concrete actions to avoid pay inequalities between men and women.
In this sense, national female participation rate (52.93%) is almost fifteen points below the male participation rate (67.30%).

Finally, Gázquez explained that the Women's Employment Plan will form part of the package of measures for the economic revitalization of the municipality who designs the consistory in collaboration with social partners and business confederations.
Thus, our intention is to continue reducing the unemployment rate in our town, "which is now 12 points below the national average of unemployment, after over a year and half recording consecutive declines in the local unemployment rate."
