The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras has become the new Local Board of Public Safety, which aims to create a forum where organizations, business entities and social agents of the municipality to discuss and propose new measures in the field of public safety in Puerto Lumbreras.
Thus, the mayor of Puerto Lumbreras, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, chairman of the "new advisory body, information and social participation starts to increase monitoring and implement new policies for public safety in the municipality."
In this sense, some of the main functions of the new Public Safety Local Council include counseling and the study on the actions of public safety that are developed locally.
In addition, the new Council a report design proposals in this area, and channel citizen participation in municipal affairs related to safety issues, traffic, transport, civil protection and prevention.
Likewise, the Board of Public Safety Puerto Lumbreras is configured with a mixed and diverse body, comprising members of various associations and local authorities.
Thus, the Council is chaired by the Mayor and shall consist of 17 members, as the councilor in Emergency and Civil Protection, the councilor in the area of ​​Transport, the Chief of Local Police and the Chief Technical Operating Consortium for Fire Fighting.
On the other hand, is also part of the new Council Emergency Coordinator and Puerto Lumbreras Civil Protection and the Corps Commander of Post Civil Guard of Puerto Lumbreras.
Notably, the elected members of the Council shall be appointed by the organizations or associations representing the city.
Thus, a representative will also be part of the Local Federation of Neighborhood Associations, a representative of the enterprise and trade associations in Puerto Lumbreras, representatives of educational, cultural, and sports.
On the other hand, are also part of a representative council of associations of disabled people in Puerto Lumbreras, and members of agricultural associations and cattle of Puerto Lumbreras, and associations of women and immigrants, among others.
Finally, Sanchez explained that "the new Local Council will provide citizens greater participation in municipal decision-making by providing the ability to make proposals on improving citizen security policies developed in our locality."
