The four participating schools in the municipality during the months of May and June in educational workshops on energy efficiency.

The initiative is part of the project Ecopuerto 2008-2012, which includes more than 150 concrete measures with which the city of Puerto Lumbreras works to promote respect for the environment and sustainable development.

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the council's Sustainable Development and in collaboration with the Regional Energy Agency of the Region of Murcia, ARGEM, has launched a campaign for energy efficiency and savings under the motto "Fun Science" directed students of 3 rd, 4 th and 5 th grade of the four schools in the municipality.

Thus, more than 400 students will be trained in the field of energy and energy saving.

Specifically, the conference 'Fun Science', are organized in collaboration with the MAPFRE Foundation and is established as an initiative "environmental awareness, which is the smallest consciousness of the need to conserve energy to support the environment" .

In this sense, specialized instructors explain to students in schools with concrete measures to reduce energy consumption at home, and which also reduces emissions of greenhouse gases.

For this, the project offers students practical learning materials and experiments conducted by specialized technicians.

In addition, the conference 'Fun Science' are part of the 150 measures Ecopuerto 2008-2012 Strategic Plan, with which the session works all possible areas to promote sustainable development and environment.

Thus, the Strategic Plan 2008-2012 includes Ecopuerto concrete measures in the field of energy efficiency, transport, water management, waste management or environmental education of citizens.

Sanchez concluded by explaining that "the City has become sustainable growth in a central objective of his government. Our goal is to become a green city by involving all citizens in the preservation of natural heritage."
