The initiative is framed within the European project 'Active citizenship and intercultural dialogue with immigrant populations (diamine)', which involved the City Council of Puerto Lumbreras with associations and administrations in other European countries
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Equal Opportunity and Immigration, proposes the development of a Plan for the Integration of Immigrant Population, which is framed within the actions foreseen in the European project 'Active citizenship and intercultural dialogue the immigrant population (diamine) '.
Specifically, the proposal was approved unanimously by the Full Council and is the design of an integration plan which aims to make a diagnosis of the situation of immigrants, and later designing concrete actions and measures that favor their integration into the social, cultural and educational.
Also, through this Plan is to foster collaboration between different local government areas as well as organizations and associations working in the municipality, to implement measures that will promote the integration of immigrants in all areas.
In line with these actions, the session participates in the European project 'Active citizenship and intercultural dialogue with the immigrant population (diamine)'.
Thus, the project's main objective is the study of a common methodology and implementing actions to improve the integration of immigrants.
Thus, "the project work in specific areas such as education and training, employment and socialization, along with associations and administrations in other European countries such as Malta, Italy, Sweden and Finland," says Catherine Gázquez.
