The town of Puerto Lumbreras last night hosted the thirteenth edition of the Flamenco Festival attended by over 700 people in the inner enclosure Nogalte Castle.
In this 2012 edition, the Festival was represented by 'The Rhythm of One Verse' danced for more than 60 members of the Ballet Flamenco Ria Pita, as well as performances by the guitarist Mercedes Luján, the singer Elijah Knight and the flamenco group Arachi Flamenca.
In this sense, the Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Maribel Martinez, explained that "the Festival Flamenco de Puerto Lumbreras becomes more important every year, and has already become a key event for all those lovers of dance and flamenco. In this 2012 edition, the Festival has received flamenco singing Elijah Knight, and Mercedes Lujás guitar and danced poetic representation of verses of poets of our history, "said the Councillor for Tourism and Culture, Maria Isabel Martinez.
Thus, starting at 22.30 in the indoor enclosure Nogalte Castle Festival with the interpretation of 'The Rhythm of One Verse' which was directed by the president of the Association Ria Pita, Maria Carmen Martinez.
More than 60 dancers of the Ballet Flamenco adapted interpreted verses of poets such as Federico Garcia Lorca, Manuel Machado, and Rafael Duyos, among others.
Also, the thirteenth edition of the Flamenco Festival featured a performance by the guitarist Mercedes Luján, flamenco singing and Elijah Knight of Cartagena.
In conclusion, the Councillor for Culture and Tourism, Maribel Martinez, noted that "the Festival Flamenco de Puerto Lumbreras has established himself as one of the key cultural events in our town, and every year increases in number of flamenco-loving public adds to this initiative which is part of the Cultural Nogalte summer program.
