The main objective is to train citizens in the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary technical professionals to develop the profession of assistant cook, specializing in rural hotels.
The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, in collaboration with the Association of Families and Women of the World Rural AFAMMER, has launched a training program in "Hospitality for rural tourism: traditional cuisine," designed to seek jobs and self-employment activities designed to diversify the rural economy.
The training course, taught at the Center for Women in Puerto Lumbreras, has twenty students.
Specifically, the main objective is to train citizens in the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary technical professionals to develop the profession of assistant cook, specializing in rural hotels.
Thus, the cooking course content refer to rural tourism and hospitality, as well as the technical area of ​​the kitchen, storage, stock control and handling of food, nutrition and diet, the Mediterranean Diet, the crude preparation and preservation of vegetables, meat, poultry, game and fishing.
In this way, students learn the preparation of dishes, both traditional and rural roots and basic safety skills at work, employment counseling and prevention of occupational hazards.
In this regard, recipients of this training course were generally women of working age who want to work in the hospitality sector or achieve retraining.
