This measure aims to coordinate the consistory resources and tools to ensure the prevention of the facts on violence against women, ensure better compliance with court decisions and protect victims of domestic violence and gender more effectively.

The Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, through the Department of Public Safety and the Department of Equality of Opportunity in Municipal Plenary approved the accession of Puerto Lumbreras Protocol Collaboration and Coordination between Security Forces and State Bodies of the local police to protect victims of domestic violence and gender.

Specifically, this morning the Councillor for Public Safety, Dolores Arenas, along with the Councillor for Equal Opportunities, Lina Gázquez, presented at a press conference the municipality accession to this Protocol of Cooperation and Coordination between the Security Forces of State and Local Police Forces.

This is an initiative proposed by the Home Office and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces which aims to ensure the protection of victims of gender violence.

In this sense, the objective of this measure is intended to coordinate resources and tools to ensure the prevention of the facts in this matter, ensure better compliance with court decisions and protect victims of domestic violence and gender in a more effective.

"The authorities must coordinate our efforts to protect victims and affected by domestic violence. So, with this Protocol will establish a rapid and secure exchange of information between Forces of State Security and the Police Local, stressed Dolores Arenas, Councillor of Public Safety.

Thus, the Protocol of cooperation between the Security Forces of the State and Local police forces will be based on: providing victims with a faster police response in situations of risk, avoid duplication of interventions, providing clear information on victim rights and resources, and ensure coordination and collaboration with public and non-governmental resources devoted to legal and psychosocial support to victims.
