Over 300 people attended last night at the Astronomical Observatory Cabezo de la Jara to observe the fall of "Perseids" popularly known as'' Rain of Stars "or" Tears of St. Lawrence. "

Through the Department of Tourism and Culture of the Municipality of Puerto Lumbreras, has launched the campaign "Meet the Stars", which includes activities such as guided tours, lectures and seminars outdoors, and develops on Wednesdays and Saturdays from July to September from 22:00 at the Astronomical Observatory Cabezo de la Jara.

Since the start of the campaign 'Meet the Stars' in July, more than 1000 people from different countries and cities, which have attended the tours offered by the consistory lumbrerense in collaboration with the Astronomical Association of the Region of Murcia.

The Councillor for Tourism and Culture, Maribel Martinez, explained that "during this week have been over 300 people that have participated in organized activities at the Astronomical Observatory of Cabezo de la Jara to watch the" falling stars "- concluded Martinez encouraging citizens to-"participate in the upcoming free guided tours every Wednesday and Saturday in August and September from 2200 hours." Finally, note that this year the council has included the campaign 'Meet the Stars 'in the new program of Rural Tourism Development which takes place during the summer months, and includes visits to the Center for Nature Interpretation and Astronomical Trail located within the natural setting of Cabezo de la Jara, by the Astronomical Observatory.
