The hamlet of Gonar lumbrerense held during the 14th and August 15th in honor of their Patron Saint of the Virgen del Carmen.
The celebration has been attended by hundreds of people have enjoyed a varied program of activities such as the traditional procession, festival, fair noon, playgrounds, and the choice of the Queens of the Festival 2011 and its Ladies of Honor.
Specifically, Rocio Parra and Marina Perez were elected Mayor and Queen Reina Infantil respectively, in a ceremony in which were accompanied by most of the residents of the hamlet.
On the other hand, some of the most emotional moments of the weekend was the religious acts in honor of the patron, such as the traditional Mass and procession later in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, which toured the streets of the hamlet accompanied by more 200 people.
Notably, the parties, to also counted with various musical performances, sporting activities and days of coexistence as the traditional tasting crumbs.
As a peculiarity of these parties, note that being in honor of the Virgen del Carmen, moved every year until mid-August, with your big day 15 of the same.
It is a tradition maintained for decades, since once the great majority of families in the parish who were engaged in agricultural work and livestock were leaving to work outside the town during the month of July.
